Vintage Flora Giveaway

I’ve been reading a lot of vintage love blogs lately. When I thought about ways to incorporate a little bit of vintage to my own outfits without a lot of expense (my camera just broke, so shopping isn’t really an option at the moment) and time (I still have an essay to write), something sprang to my mind: A small album about German fauna and flora that I’d picked up at the books swapping board some time ago because of the illustrations. I had no precise idea what to do with it before, greeting cards maybe, but now it was clear as day to me: Badges. I love badges.
Of course not all pictures got pressed between foil and metal (but there are more to come). But two sets are ready to be given away in celebration of my blog’s third anniversary, over 400 posts and springtime!

“Floral” set

“Herbal” set

Two sets (which means two winners!) of three 3cm badges (badge-it style, which means fixed safety pins instead of a “normal” badge pin) each with vintage botanicals from a 1964 scrapbook. They’ll come on a small stripe of leather, for extra security during the shipping process.

F Yeah Lolita: Back to Blogspot Giveaway

While I’m hosting a giveaway at the moment (don’t forget to participate!), I’m taking part in one for the first time (consciously, at least. I once did and won, but actually I had forgotten about the giveaway in the respective post and just commented innocently because of something else…).

Miss Caro-chan of F Yeah Lolita fame changed her URL and moved back to Blogspot again and is now hosting a giveaway to spread the word (thy will be done…). If you don’t know her blog yet, you should definitely take a look! It provides solid information for Lolitas of every level, from absolute beginner to great old ones. I love how Miss Caro-chan doesn’t take the fashion too seriously, though, and her ironic “what could be the next big thing in Lolita?” post (which you can find here) together with “OTT Classic Lolita” (here) is one of my favourites of all the lolita-themed blog posts I’ve ever read.

So, I’m trying my luck with this giveaway. I especially adore the Classic Lolita set… Wish me luck! (Or try it yourself.)

Postscriptum, a.k.a. Giveaway

If you liked the illustrations of the “Baby it’s cold outside” post yesterday, rejoice!, as I’m giving them away!

The set consists of six inked and coloured drawings, 12×10 cm, aquarelle colours on watercolour board in natural white, 220 g/m². So much for the technical details.

All pictures are drawn by me, signed and took an overall four hours to complete (I guess, maybe more. I didn’t look at the watch much during the progress). Each one shows a coat of arms matching one of these themes: baking, reading, house-cleaning, tea, warm clothing, bathing. The cleaning one is my personal favourite. ^^
