Woodland Hike in Summer

Yesterday was such a pretty summer’s day that Scoundrel and I decided to go on a short hike to one of the peaks around town. We went by one of the old graveyards and climbed an over-grown flight of stairs up to the part of the hill where the woods begin.

We found a wild raspberry field on our way up and made our way to the beautiful summit clearing where we lay out our blanket and had a picnic. When we came down again it was already early evening. I haven’t felt the urge to hike in years, but I think Yama no Susume might have sparked that again, and in any case this was a wonderful afternoon.
