I first read about 28 Days of Blogging over at Julia’s blog in her 2017 review. It took me about half a week of thinking and ditching the thought and picking it up again to decide that I should do this: Try to blog every day during February.
What are my goals for those 28 days? Why do I want to do that, and won’t it put me under a lot of unnecessary pressure?
Yeah… yeah, it probably will. Anyway, what I want to do with this is…
Develop a blogging routine and re-discover my voice. I feel like I have been inconsistent in frequency, and I also feel like I don’t exactly know what I’m doing at the moment with my blog. Am I a weird fae person from under the hill making life as magical as possible? Am I an eco punk telling stories about her hopefully sustainable life? Am I one of the leftover background characters of Desperate Romantics? Or all of the above?
I do know that I want to keep blogging, I just want a bit more structure. It might also help with my video editing routine because, you know, I still need that, too.
Build a buffer of posts for times when I feel particularly bad or don’t have the time to post directly. Having no surplus means stress, and I don’t like that. While I might not be able to build up reserves during February the practise of writing consistently might come in handy with this.
Redesign (or rebrand? Who knows.) this blog. I’ve been wanting to do this for quite a while now, and I want to show you my progress and thoughts for a few new design elements, too.
So I want to reconnect. Regroup with myself. Regain confidence.
I can’t wait to start this journey. Maybe I won’t make it, but I’d like to know that I tried.
